Thinking about becoming more active within the next six months? Read on! You're at the threshold of a moreactive lifestyle. Just thinking about it means you’ve considered the benefits and obstacles of incorporating exercise into your daily life.

Remember, physical activity shouldn’t be difficult or painful. It can be fun! Think about how much fun it is to walk outside on a crisp fall day, shoot baskets at the gym or going to the playground with your children or grandchildren. Start now to include some of the fun activities you’ve been missing. Below are steps you can take to incorporate physical activity into your everyday life:

  • Find the time
  • Remember your physical activity successes and interests
  • Develop a support network
  • Think about your current level of activity and where you realistically could make changes
  • Set small, specific goals
  • Reward yourself
  • Develop long-term vision
